Groove Editor Help

Create and edit drum patterns with an intuitive grid interface and professional notation display.

Getting Started

The Groove Editor lets you create drum patterns by clicking on a grid. Each row represents a different drum sound (hi-hat, snare, kick, etc.), and each column represents a beat subdivision.

  1. Click on the grid to add or remove notes
  2. Press the Play button or Space to hear your pattern
  3. Adjust tempo using the BPM slider or tap tempo
  4. Use the notation display to see standard drum notation
  5. Share your pattern via URL or save it to your library

Tips & Tricks

Use the Metronome

Enable the metronome from the drawer to practice along with your pattern. Choose from DAW-quality sounds like Ableton, Logic, or FL Studio.

Show Stickings (R/L)

Enable the stickings display to see suggested right (R) and left (L) hand patterns for learning proper technique.

Beat Count Display

Toggle the count display to see beat numbers (1, 2, 3, 4) above the notation for easier reading.

Share via URL

Your pattern is encoded in the URL. Copy and share the link to let others view and play your pattern instantly.

Print Notation

Use the print button to generate a clean, printable version of your drum notation for lessons or practice sheets.

Save to Library

Sign in to save your grooves to your personal library. Organize them into folders and access them from any device.
